Welcome to
Central Illinois Nursing.org

In 2008, several organizations including The Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln, The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, St. John’s Hospital and Memorial Medical Center, Lincoln Land Community College, St. John’s College of Nursing, Benedictine University in Springfield and The Springfield Urban League came together to address the nursing shortage in Central Illinois.  These groups recognized that the need for a local, well-educated nursing staff was imperative to the overall health and well-being of the Mid-Illinois Medical District and the regional community at large.

Together, a program was developed that would address the nursing shortage in Central Illinois and thus, the Central Illinois Nursing Initiative was born.
